Growing and learning
Growing and Learning is a series of books that have been written
to support the parents and carers of young people with learning
disabilities.
The books have been written by Jane Keeling in a friendly relaxed 'parent to parent' style and there are personal anecdotes which it is hoped will encourage others. The books can be used also by professionals working in the field.
Issues covered within each book are:
- Guidance, tips and support for parents and carers
- The importance of teaching children and young people with a
learning disability about sexuality and sexual health issues
- Information and support about working with young people with
communication difficulties
- Advice about using communication symbols and visual learning
methods
- Information for parents and carers of young people with an
